The Norman Lockyer Observatory is pleased to participate in this Community Project to bring people together.

Sidmouth School of Art welcomed JJ Waller, Artist Photographer in Residence in August and November 2025, to create a personalised “snapshot in time” in Sidmouth to develop new ways of seeing together whose approach is “We invite everyone to work with us to create a fairer, safer, greener, anti-racist world together through photography.”

JJ’s A Community Portrait work opens in the new photographic exhibition at the Riverside Art Space, at the Sidmouth Sensory Garden , The Ham from 15 February until 30th May 2025.

Norman Lockyer Observatory took part in November 2025 in Your Town My Town. JJ visited the Norman Lockyer Observatory site and was delighted with the different photographic opportunities presented. He took many photos and 5 of them are displayed on this page.
