Safeguarding Policies

Our Commitment to Safeguarding the Norman Lockyer Observatory Society is fully committed to creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone. We recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Whether attending a public open evening, a private observing session, or participating in our online spaces, the welfare and safety of our members, visitors, and volunteers is paramount.

We have adopted comprehensive, proportionate safeguarding policies based on the latest guidelines from the Federation of Astronomical Societies. These ensure that we uphold our duty of care to both children and adults at risk.
