The Observatory’s Radio Astronomy and Radio Sciences activity is centred at the Lockyer Technology Centre (LTC). Activities include Radar and Optical (camera) Meteor Detection, Solar Flare & CME Detection, Magnetometry (Solar effects on Earth’s Magnetic Field), Muon (cosmic ray) detection, Meteorology and Lightning Detection.

We also have a ground station for the Blitzortung lightning detection network
