Lunar Observing & Imaging Workshop

All NLO members are warmly invited to a Lunar Observing & Imaging Workshop on Friday 8th Nov, starting 7.30pm in the Planetarium.

This Workshop will cover Observing and Basic Photography of the Moon. We will review the various types of lunar features which can be viewed using binoculars and telescopes and demonstrate some basic methods of photography. If the Moon is something you’ve been intending to observe or photograph or if you are an experienced observer/imager are willing to share some of what you have learnt… then this evening is for you!

We will meet initially in the Planetarium for an Introductory talk and discussion. If the sky is clear we will then go outside to use and compare various telescopes to view the Moon and attempt basic photography using smartphones and cameras. If you have a suitable telescope, camera and/or smartphone then do please bring them! – together with warm clothing for any observing time outside. If the sky is cloudy we will remain in the planetarium and demonstrate the principles there instead.

If you have any other questions about the evening then please contact Alan Smith ( mr.alanjsmith@yahoo.co.uk ) or Mark Stephens ( marklstephens@btinternet.com ).

We trust you will be able to join us and will have an enjoyable evening!
