The Observatory’s Radio Astronomy and Radio Sciences activity is centred at the Lockyer Technology Centre (LTC). Activities include Radar and Optical (camera) Meteor Detection, Solar Flare & CME Detection, Magnetometry (Solar effects on Earth’s Magnetic Field), Ionospheric Analysis (IONA), Tropospheric Propagation, Meteorology and Lightning Detection.
The Technology Centre also runs a sophisticated Satellite Ground Station for tracking Cube Satellites (CubeSats) and Weather Satellites.
